Catering ordering system FAQs

The questions operators ask.

How far in advance can customers place a catering order?

You decide. You can set the cut-off schedule per day of the week. Take it a step further and customise the lead time per product so you always surface the correct menu and remain in control.

What does my kitchen actually receive?

It’s up to you. Orders can go straight to your POS and you use the docket. Or you can use our outputs, which become really useful as you scale: a daily production summary, which totals what has to be made across every order for the day, alongside a packing slip per order so the team packs things correctly.

Do I have to arrange the van myself?

No. Slerp Dispatch books a dedicated catering courier with a vehicle that fits the order, tracks it and supports both you and your customer. There are no extra courier contracts and no courier invoices for your team to check. Our integration with couriers is direct, with no middlemen.

Can I take catering orders and normal orders on the same site?

Yes. Catering sits on the same branded storefront as click and collect and same-day delivery. Each can have its own menu, its own minimum spend and its own lead times. Customers see one shop; you keep the rules separate for each location.

How do customers pay?

At checkout, when they order, with card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. If you want, you can give them a dedicated voucher so they pay £0 and you invoice them afterwards (and yes, we generate those invoices for you).

Can each location run its own catering setup?

Yes. Every site gets its own settings, so you can run different menus with different lead times, cut-offs, minimums and delivery zones (drive time, distance, or draw your own).

Do I keep the customer data?

Yes. Every catering customer, their address, their order history and their contact details sit in the platform for you to use. Export it, or push it automatically to your CRM.

What does it cost?

We charge a monthly fee per location. Talk to our team and we can guide you on what we think you need.
